Rangitoto hike outside Auckland

Writer: BrendanBrendan

After spending a few days exploring Auckland and planning our route in New Zealand, we decided to take a ferry across the bay to Rangitoto and embark on our first hike in NZ. Although in only took about 5 minutes before Zorina tripped on her own shoelaces and faceplanted on the path in front of 15 or so people...we made it to the peak for some stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape. The mountain is an old volcano, so you could see the hardened slides and black rocks along the entirety of the hike.
